The Real Estate Store has been in business in Scarborough since 1979. We are twelve professional brokers specializing in bringing buyers and sellers together to each other's benefit. As a policy we represent either the seller or, by special arrangement, we work for a buyer to facilitate their search.
We are Realtors, active on numerous committees, boards, local organizations and community functions. We are members of the Statewide Realtors Multiple Listing Service and have on-line capabilities to expose your property or help in your search for properties.
We are conveniently located at 252 Route 1 in Scarborough, across from the Town Hall, at the Center of Scarborough.
We brokers live within a 10 mile radius of the office and we generally service properties within a 30-40 mile radius from the office.
Our commission split with our brokers is designed as much as possible to benefit the agent and we do not have different schedules for property sold on a co-brokerage basis with another company. We have heard many brokers tell us, and we are proud of the fact, that they like to co-broker with us. We feel that this is important and strive to make co-operating brokers feel welcome. Through local and national directories, we often receive referrals from other brokers in different areas of the country and we value this business. We also recognize that other brokers have local and regional referral customers. In this market, when purchasers are personally inspecting up to 30 and 40 homes prior to their selections, we feel it is very important to make our listings attractive for co-operating brokers. In the past year approximately 60% of our listing inventory was sold through a multiple listing cooperative situation. The Multiple Listing Services are by far the number one force in the marketing of real estate in Southern Maine.
